1c shortening, butter or mixture of both
1c sugar
1 egg unbeaten
1 tsp almond extract
2-1/2 cups flour
Cream the shortening (butter), add the sugar and cream together. Add egg and extract, mix well. Add the flour to make a stiff dough.
Form balls and press with cookie stamp. Can also be pressed into mini tins.
Bake 375* for fifteen minutes till brown and done.
Cool on a rack.
